octobre 10, 2023🚨 Paying for Privacy – Outrageous or Expected? Let’s examine.
Protecting our online privacy is a fundamental right, but it seems like some companies are trying to make it a luxury.
Noyb, the data protection organization, has just filed a complaint against Meta, accusing them of trying to bypass EU privacy laws. How? By charging users a hefty fee of up to €251.88 per year to maintain their data protection rights on Instagram and Facebook.
If Meta gets away with this, it sets a dangerous precedent! Other app providers might think it’s okay to follow suit, leaving online privacy completely unaffordable for many. That’s not right, and we can’t let it happen!
Noyb is now urging the Austrian data protection authority to take immediate action. They’re calling for an urgency procedure to put a stop to this illegal processing and impose a significant fine as a deterrent.
Let’s stand together and protect our online privacy rights for everyone, regardless of their financial means. Share this post to spread the word and let’s make sure our data protection doesn’t become a luxury!
